See how HUGE PB is! The goal is to buy it and turn it into three divisions: The National Deaf Schools Museum, a home for GSD Museum and ASL Rose store and studio. The purposes for those divisions is listed below:
National Deaf Schools Museum
The more Deaf Schools receive support, the more they will stay alive! Stories in ASL told in 50 states of all kinds of Deaf Schools and who/when/how they are opened will be recorded and displayed in the future national Deaf schools museum permanently. The alumni of Deaf schools in each state will present the story in ASL. The stories will honor hidden and oppressed Deaf students and leaders who shared their experiences of struggles and discrimination during their lifetime when they opened their Deaf schools. As an example shown below, TV monitors will set to display what school buildings (or possibly 3D models of such buildings) look like when they first opened and/or state-funded.
GSD Museum
PB was used as a part of Georgia School for the Deaf on the Fannin Campus. It was built and opened in 1939 until it closed in 1984. GSD Museum has a rich history of artifacts, documents, pictures and mermotillas that were belonged to GSD alumni; therefore it needs more space to display them all, and PB is a perfect place for them. GSD Museum deserves to have its home in PB.
ASL Rose Store and Studio
ASL Rose is an online store of bilingual and bicultural products. Deaf Cinderella book is one such example, which was published last May. ASL Rose had created many projects and they are in process to be completed with special and spacious equipments. Right now, ASL Rose needs a permanent space to continue researching, publishing, distributing, creating educational videos and promoting how it is important to keep Deaf Schools alive. A space in PB is perfect for ASL Rose as well. Besides, ten percent from ASL Rose products will go to the National Deaf Schools Museum.
Remember, there will be two reserved walls: 1. Mosaic mural of vintage PB made with selfies of donors under $999, AND 2. engraved brick of donors’ names and their years of attending and leaving/graduation. Some allies who have donated will have their names and how they are related to Deaf Schools be engraved. The brick wall will be built when donations are collected between $1,000 and $4,999 total. Be a part to this, and it will be displayed forever in PB!
Thank you, Chris Culberson, for sending this picture to me. He found it from Google Earth. ♥️
Again, 10 percent from all purchased ASL Rose products will go to the National Deaf Schools Museum, and we also welcome ANY amount of donation toward the purchasing of the Primary Building (or PB for short).
