2019 Calendar: Our American Deaf Schools: The Hidden Leaders

The 12-month 2019 Calendar of Our American Deaf Schools: The Hidden Leaders is rich with the early history of what really happened before the state-governed Deaf schools started operating. In the early days of the United States (1800s), the real leaders, many of them Deaf, often had the best instincts on how to teach Deaf students. In most cases, they spoke out for the right to speak in signed languages and had to fight audism. Over the years, they were opposed and brushed aside. Now, they are not even mentioned at all in current history books. The calendar honors those who struggled to open their Deaf schools to all Deaf students and shares the history of how the Deaf schools were established.

Stamped with the ASL Rose Bilingual Seal showing that the information is presented in spoken ASL and written English, the calendar includes a quick response (QR) code for purchasers to view those historical stories in ASL.

The calendar is 10.25 by 15.5 in length and 7.75 by 10.25 when folded. A single calendar is available for $25.00. You can also buy four calendars for $90 (save $10)

The calendar can be placed anywhere, such as in your home, classrooms, and offices. Suitable for all ages. The calendar can be gifted to your loved ones. It can also be used as a part of teaching in courses such as American Sign Language, American History, Deaf Studies, composition writing, and so on.
