[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“No Deaf Schools’ History, No A+ Teachers!” Presentation at American Sign Language Teacher Association Conference in San Diego on July 2, 2019.
The participants had pledged to teach Deaf students at their schools about the early history of Deaf Schools! Thank you!
And for all teachers of Deaf schools at ALL academic settings (i.e, Deaf schools, mainstreamed programs, charter schools, so on) MUST understand the authentic history of who really started the Deaf schools in US, and the stories of the Deaf leaders/teachers’ experiences in the past and present must be carried on for their legacy. If they who want to become top teachers don’t understand that, they will never be able to advocate for the signed languages, the Deaf culture, and Deaf students’ right to know their own history.
All Deaf leaders/teachers from the past down to the present…thank you for all you have done!
It’s up to you, teachers of Deaf students, to be an A plus teaches! ♥️
