Yay! My beautiful cousin, Anita Cummings, donated $100! I am thrilled to see my family members becoming a part of this campaign…first Scott Ward, and now Anita Cummings…and their selfies will be in the mosaic mural of vintage PB forever!! Thank you very much!
Publishing stories about Deaf Schools in ASL are very limited. Plus there aren’t many children’s books about Deaf schools published either. It is important to share ASL stories about how Deaf schools really started. None of curriculum has mentioned what really happened when Deaf Schools were opened and/or established. It was actually Deaf leaders who first proposed the idea of a Deaf school, or opened their own Deaf schools. Or inquired whether Deaf schools were available, or sought to influence in opening Deaf schools. But all too often they are not credited for their efforts. Indeed, there are many authentic stories about Deaf leaders and founders that have not been revealed…they were either denied or buried down into the ground. Very sad but true. But it will not for long…soon PB will be a place where Deaf schools and their Deaf leaders will be recognized and honored, and all of the long-hidden stories will be told publicly in ASL by alumni of each Deaf School in US! See the picture…the PB is behind me.
Thank you very much, Anita, for your donation! I love you and hope to see you very soon! ♥️
10 percent from all purchased ASL Rose products (www.aslrose.com/shop) will go to the National Deaf Schools Museum, and we also welcome ANY amount of donation toward the purchasing of the Primary Building (or PB for short).
Please help make a dream come true in purchasing and turning the PB into three divisions: the future National Deaf Schools Museum, a new home for GSD Museum, and also a new home for ASL Rose: https://www.facebook.com/
