ASL ROSE: ONE-OF-A-KIND COMPANY. PRO-ASL. FULLY BILINGUAL, AND DEAF.
ASL Rose (established in 2004) is based in Frederick, Maryland. Dr. Adonia K. Smith, who is Deaf, has many years of teaching experience in ASL, Deaf Studies, and ASL-English Bilingualism (Deaf Education). She believes there is an urgent need for Deaf-centered ASL-English bilingual educational materials for Deaf and hearing learners from Pre-K to college. To fill this need, Smith and her staff have been hard at work developing materials learners, as well as providing workshops, presentations, performances, and professional consultation. ASL Rose products provide access to both ASL (multimedia books, web-based TV, and animated video) and English (text, closed captions, and voice-over) audiences, which is ASL Rose’s guiding philosophy.
